The challenge

Catering websites can quickly become difficult to use. There are many food types, serving sizes, dietary considerations, delivery details and event formats to account for.

The challenge was to keep the experience simple without flattening the range.

Customers needed to be able to:

  • Browse by familiar catering categories.
  • Compare options without getting lost in the menu.
  • Place straightforward online orders.
  • Request help for larger or more specific catering needs.
  • Trust that the business could handle time-sensitive orders reliably.

Our approach

We built the website around the way people actually organise catering. Instead of treating the menu as one long catalogue, the site groups products into recognisable occasions and food types, making it easier for customers to find what suits their event.

WooCommerce was used to support direct ordering, while quote and enquiry pathways were kept visible for customers who needed something more tailored. This allowed the website to serve both repeat office customers and people planning larger one-off events.

Design system

The design needed to feel fresh and appetising, but not overly styled. For a catering business, the food needs to do much of the work, so the website uses a clean structure, generous image areas and simple navigation to keep attention on the menu.

The visual style is warm, practical and accessible. It avoids feeling too corporate, while still giving the business the credibility needed for office and event catering.

Kinski & Bourke created our online store on our website which was perfect for our business. This has increased our business and makes it easy to order catering and pay online for our customers. Not being overly tech savvy, I found Anthony to be extremely helpful with any tech problem that may come up regarding the website, emails or any other technical problem.

Any questions or problems I have had are answered almost immediately and always resolved.

Anthony and Craig are extremely knowledgeable and always available to help and their customer service is excellent which is rare in these times.
